Fuck The War Pigs

February 19th, 2007 by Steve

In a review of a book by Joshua Key, “The Deserter’s Tale” [yes, he deserted after his first tour of duty for moral reasons], one particular quote that was shared rocked me. This is the new commander of the company, after a Sergeant objects to a mission:

“You know what, Sergeant?” he said. “Your dangers don’t matter to me. If one hundred of you walk out that door, as long as seventy-five percent of you walk back inside I’m a happy man because it’s an acceptable fatality rate.

An acceptable fatality rate? Fuck you! Fuck those scum sucker “superiors” who don’t give a shit about the lives or safety of their men and women! Fuck the War Pig Generals who are destroying our planet! And most of all, FUCK the Bush Administration, FUCK the bastards that wanted this war, FUCK the Republicans who voted for it and have supported it over the past 4 and a half years, and FUCK the Democrats who let them get away with it! They should have filibustered the damn legislation back in 2002! To hell with the election consequences [they got reamed as “weak on terrorism” anyway and lost badly], the moral and human consequences were too high.

I’m disgusted. I’m gonna go finish crying now.

Support HR 960

February 12th, 2007 by Steve

On February 8th, Representative Joe Sestak (D, PA-7) introduced H.R. 960, a bill mandating the removal of almost all U.S. troops from Iraq by December 31st, 2007, and cutting off funding for operations beyond this date. It currently has 3 cosponsors: Bob Brady (D, PA-1), Steve Cohen (D, TN-9), and Carol Shea-Porter (D, NH-1). It is very important that our men and women come home safely as soon as possible and we end our disastrous involvement in this fiasco. Contact your representative and let them know you want them to support HR 960; if they already support it, thank them. We need to try our hardest to bring an end to this war.

Bush Administration Consistently Outpaces My Ability To Mock Them

February 2nd, 2007 by Steve

I have some more news to cause you to lose faith in humanity! While the Bushies have hemmed and hawed about global warming [it’s real, we’re causing it], it seems even they must face the mounting reams of evidence [or at least the pressure from the public which is facing it] and are asking scientists for help to offset the rising temperatures. I know you’re thinking, “So they’re funding them to reduce emissions through a variety of means?” Well, no. Perhaps alternative fuel research? Also, no. At the least, they have to be doing a PR campaign for conservation? Nope. Think more half-assed, last-ditch, mind-bogglingly grandiose and moronic at the same time… and see if you guessed correctly below the flip!
