Hypocrites

August 1st, 2005 by Steve

Who was it that was complaining that appointments deserved an up-or-down vote? Could it be the same people who just bypassed the Senate to appoint a U.N. ambassador who believes we should evict the U.N. from U.S. soil, who may be involved in leaking the identity of an undercover CIA agent, and who is involved in a bunch of other legal and ethical problems? I believe it is! What hypocrites.

To be fair, there is a big difference between the 2 situations. Filibuster: legal congressional method done [generally] by one party against the other to prevent tyranny of the majority. Recess Appointment: legal method of sneaking appointments pass a “hostile” legislature. Wanna know the weird thing? The Republicans control the legislature. The fact that Bush had to sneak Bolton pass his own damn legislature says something about the state of his presidency.

Quack.
