Right Denies Basic Constitutional Premises

April 12th, 2005 by Steve

The frothing-at-the-mouth Religious Reich has snapped. Utterly, completely lost it. For those who haven’t been paying attention, the Christian Far-Right has gone absolutely berserk since the Terri Shiavo case. Republican Representatives and Senators that violence against judges is “understandable” given the fact that they make “unpopular rulings” [we’ll just ignore the fact that the 2 rulings used as recent examples were, um, popular]. Spokespersons for these radical Christians have called for the removal of Judges, both through impeachment and violence. They have used Stalin as a positive example of how to do this. Other extreme Congressmen have introduced a bill which would make it illegal for judges to deny that God is the source of all law, liberty, and government. You think this is a fucking joke? I’m tired of putting up with the bullshit from Republican apologists; enough is enough. This is what you voted for. The destruction of the checks and balances and serparation of powers outlined in the Constitution; an independent third branch of government. They are going to take that away from this country, either through legislative fiat, or by force.

A party that enacts laws that would make being the minority party intolerable has no intention of ever relinquishing power.

Scary shit…..
