A funny site

May 26th, 2004 by Steve

I thought I should pass this along. Everyone should go to this website. I have several good reasons. First, the URL is the longest I’ve ever seen. Second, it’s a really funny URL. Third, the guy makes several excellent points. Here’s the link!

What comes out the day after tomorrow?

May 26th, 2004 by Steve

ok sorry, I couldn’t resist the pun. Yes, on the day after tomorrow (friday), the highly-anticipated “The Day After Tomorrow” is released in theaters. I can’t wait. it looks like a well-constructed movie, based on possible theories as to the effects of global climatic change. I actually read a novel (entitled “Ice”) based on something very similar. I’ll draw comparisons after I watch the movie. if I’m not lazy.

Funny quote

May 21st, 2004 by Steve

Again from It’s Walky!, here’s a great exchange.

“What’s [being a guy] like?”
“Like keeping a little dog around that barks at everything.”

So very, very true.

Edit
And yet another exchange.

“What’s [being a girl] like?”
“Like all the voices in my head are gone cept one…. and that voices wants matching shoes.”

Why are we watching this?

May 21st, 2004 by Steve

*stabbity death* “the hilllllllls are aliiiiiiiive….”. Anyone who’s read It’s Walky! would understand this joke. Go read the archives. Start from the beginning. Ah, such a great joke.

We’re watching The Sound of Music in German class . And I’m trying to defend myself in The Legends of Elveron. Wish me luck.

Brief Update

May 20th, 2004 by Steve

Good News
I won the Monopoly game! It was truly a work of luck. The ultimate come-from-behind victory. Anyway, I’m considering writing something political soon. We’ll see. Or maybe not political… more current events. Depressing stuff going on around the world…

Anyway, good night everyone. Sleep well… hope everyone sleeps well…

A little about me

May 19th, 2004 by Steve

Ok, I think you all deserve to know something about me. I’ve only had, what, 4 posts already? ok, my name is Steve. I’m a 17 year old white male from an upper-middle class suburb of Philadelphia. I’m a junior at high school, but I only have less than a month remaining before the end of the school year. My strongest subjects are math and science, but I can still rack up the high scores in my social sudies and english classes. I have a close circle of friends, who I would trust with my life. I have a girlfriend, Heather, who I love with all my heart. She and I have been an item since June 12th, 2003. I enjoy playing video games, but admit I do not quite have mad skillz; just skillz. Politically, I opposed George Bush’s reactionary policies. I am a self-declared leftist libertarian. I believe in international humanitarianism rather than global militarism. Religiously, I don’t affiliate myself with any organized religion. I’m self-described as an agnostic (I don’t know) and a deist (I search for the Divine Power through logic and reason). I also like reading, both novels and webcomics. I read other blogs as well, and will likely be quoting some in the near future (hint).

Well, that’s enough for now. Time to get ready for school.

In German… again

May 18th, 2004 by Steve

Well, another day, and the game of Monopoly continues. Still royally getting my butt kicked. Even though I think I’m in second. But Steph has too many properties, too many hotels, and too much money. I will lose… I’m going to make it as interesting as possible.

UPDATE:
It’s now me and Steph. The battle begins. Tomorrow.

Cyber Patrol et al are horrible

May 17th, 2004 by Steve

I’m sitting in German class. Deutsch Klasse ist prima!! We had our AP test 10 days ago, so we’re done the class. Frau is awesome, and she let’s us play games. We’re playing Monopoly right now (in german). I’m getting royally p0wn3z, but that’s ok. I won last game.

The point of this little blog is to emphasize that internet censors blow. They don’t work. Ignoring the various porn sites I can access from the school’s computers, I’m not supposed to be able to access debate boards or blogs. Obviously, that doesn’t work well. I can also access Beliefnet from here. It’s the debate board I frequent (check the Christianity Debate board section). Anyway, the moral of the story is, don’t use internet censors. They suck.

I’m off to history class. Later.

gaaaah

May 17th, 2004 by Steve

Megatokto didn’t update this morning. I’m going to go into withdraw…. *twitches on the floor*

In an unrelated story, I’m officially opening my blog as both the bnetholics and comicholics site. As both of these, I think it’s fair enough that I run their addiction recovery sites.

But I got school. So I’ll post more about me, and maybe have more rants, later.

First Post

May 16th, 2004 by Steve

Well, writing a blog seems to be all the rage these days. And frankly, I can understand why. Having the capacity to rant about anything and everything, at any time, with a near-limitless wealth of knowledge a mere link away. That’s why I had my friend mike set up this blog for me. Mike rocks. 1337 m4573r mik30 r0×0rz!! ok enough leet. there will be time for leet later. I haven’t figured out completely how to use this… at all. so for now, this is gonna be it. I’ll probably have a rant up as soon as I figure out the ins and outs of the setup. Stay tuned… all 2 of the people who read this when they have nothing else to do!
